Privacy Policy

This is a website with sections and a form on it. There’s not much else to tell, but here is the telling of it. This website address is: https://barking.media. You found it, so you likely know that already.

WHAT I COLLECT

If you fill out the form, I get whatever you typed into it — a name, an email address, and a message. That is the whole list. Those submissions are stored in this site’s database and also emailed to me so I actually see them. My dogs never see them. They don’t read.

I keep form submissions until I have no reason to. If you would rather I didn’t, say so and I’ll delete yours.

WHAT THE SERVER COLLECTS ON ITS OWN

Like every website, this one runs on a server, and the server keeps logs. Those logs record IP addresses, browser and device information, the pages requested, and the time of the request. This site is hosted by WP Engine and sits behind Cloudflare, both of which keep logs of that kind for performance and security reasons. Cloudflare may set a cookie to tell humans apart from bots.

The site also runs Wordfence, a security plugin, which records IP addresses and blocked requests so that the site does not get taken apart by someone with a script.

I do not read these logs recreationally. They exist so the site stays up.

WHAT I DON’T DO

There is no analytics software on this site. No Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, no social media embeds. The fonts are hosted here rather than loaded from somewhere else, so visiting this page does not quietly tell a third party that you visited this page.

I do not sell anything to anyone, least of all your information.

COOKIES

This site does not set cookies to track you. Cloudflare may set a security cookie as described above, and WordPress sets a cookie if someone logs in, which is me.

YOUR SAY IN IT

If you have sent me something through the form and you want a copy of it, or you want it deleted, use the form to ask and I will do it. If the form is the thing you no longer trust, that is fair, and I will still honor the request if it reaches me some other way.

This site is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

IF THIS CHANGES

If I add anything to this site that collects more than what’s described here, I’ll change this page and change the date at the bottom of it.
